I think this is a perfect example that we need to dialogue with the Word, and with Mary in this case, and of course with God, with Jesus, when we read a passage like this.

有關聖母蒙召升天，天主教相信： – 聖母靈魂肉身是一并被提升天的， – 她的肉身沒有經歷過腐朽， – 西方禮說聖母死後靈魂肉身一并升天；東方禮卻喜歡說聖母睡着後被提升天，而不提聖母是否有死。天主教教導中並沒有說明有關聖母復活的細節，所以很少強調她是如耶穌先在世復活後被提升天，還是死後或睡着後靈魂肉身同復活於天堂，因為我們實在不知道。聖傳只說聖母被安放後，再要找她身體時就不見了。但一般來說，我聽到的說法，都偏向後者。

If by saying praying to the saints you mean worshipping them, then absolutely the Catholic Church rejects such practice. It would be idolatry and is offensive to the Lord.

Why do Catholics pray to Mary and the saints when in the Ten Commandments it says, “Thou shall have no other gods before me”? Isn’t praying to them idolatry? And same thing with the craved images of Mary and the saints, “Thou shall not make unto thee graven images”
