I was recently told by a Catholic friend that we shouldn’t receive holy communion by hand, and should only receive directly on our tongue. Reasons being only priests’ hands are consecrated, if we receive by hand, traces of small particles of Jesus’ body will be on our hands. Moreover, the likelihood of dropping the bread is higher if we receive it by hands. Could you share what is the Catholic history and teaching on this? Are there certain groups of Catholics who were taught differently?

This was given by 2 priests under 2 occasions. 1. Church celebrates St John’s birthday in addition to his death because of his free of original sins when father tried to explain why only 2 saints, including Mother Mary, were celebrating birthdays. 2. 離婚者領洗 我在7年前已離婚，現在是慕道者，將接受領洗。但是要向主區申請，因為曾經離婚，但我離婚之後再沒再婚，只是同居，那麼我還要向主區申請嗎？ 我其實已經收到主區寄給我的表格申請，我英文好差，找人代看，但是表格是給離婚者想再婚，還要給予1000$手續費。 我實在非常混亂。只想早日能夠領洗。 慕道班那邊神父又不太清楚我的問題。
