I count on GOD and trust GOD to protect my family. Recently we got 2 car accidents within 3 months and both were not our fault. I am so scared of when will be the 3rd one. Why does GOD allow that to happen again and again in such a short time? I don’t know what I did wrong or pray wrong? I always pray to allow the Holy Spirit in our hearts to walk us thru the life planned from GOD and give my family wisdom to select the choice GOD likes. I am so scared and how to avoid the 3rd one.
1.Why is Indulgence only granted by the Pope during certain occasions or feast days? 2.Why does the Pope have rights to grant indulgence? 3.Can I obtain Indulgence by doing all the requirements of Indulgence during ordinary days without being granted by the Pope?
Can you recommend some books that can help “decode” difficult Bible Scriptures? I sometimes find it difficult to understand the meaning of the Bible Scriptures, such as the passage about division in Luke 12:49-53.
If God the Father is a Spirit, how can He made human according to his own image? When I was young I always thought God the Father is a old man hovering over the earth. I gradually realized this is a wrong thinking. But then I remember in the Old Testament it describes God is invisible and like a force / wind, then how can He create human according to His own image?
If Adam and Eve were the original human, our ancestors, then, all descendants were a result of incest? Or, God had made more than two human somewhere else [descendants of Adam met somewhere else]?
Why St. Paul said “…that through death he might destroy him who has the power of death, that is, the devil..” I thought only God has power over death and life. The devil does not and cannot rule or govern human lives?
I keep hearing Catholics say “to offer up your suffering”, or “uniting your suffering with Jesus on the cross”. Would you talk about what that means, and why you would do that? How can I learn more about it?
Can I get a priest to bless a portrait of my loved one? But he is not a Christian and unwilling to know about Christian faith. I hope the Holy Spirit will enlighten him. Thank you.
Can a Christian live without reading the Bible? Can a person who only goes to Sunday Mass but does not say any prayer everyday experience change? What can you suggest youths to pray for their own life, their family, and their community whether at school, church or the office? I see many youths are struggling in the youth ministry in terms of participation and some are also struggling to voice their opinions.
Protestants like to ask Catholics why we pray ‘repetitious prayer’ like the Rosary and quote that Jesus said not to pray ‘vain repetitions’ in Matthew 6:7? How should we respond?
In the case of pregnancy resulted from rape, didn’t God grant each of us a free will? Rape is not the free will of the girl yet she is restrained by the church to keep the child. Shouldn’t a child be born of love?
My non-practicing Catholic son just had a baby. I asked to have the baby baptized. He said he would let the child make the decision later in life. What should I say or do?
An atheist approached me and asked : “Why does God, who is so good, allow suffering? If God is all-powerful, why does He allow evil to exist and does not defeat Satan in the first place? “. How should I answer?
Do dreams mean anything? Can we interpret our dreams? I often dream about a childhood friend who gave me a Miraculous Medal when we were little. We haven’t been in touch for over ten years. Is there anything I can do besides praying and offering Mass for this childhood friend of mine?
With a toddler and a baby, I find our family missing mass quite a bit during the winter cold and flu season as sickness rotates throughout each of us! Is missing mass due to a child’s sickness (or even our own) considered a sin that will require confession each time before receiving communion?
I have tried so hard to change myself but most of the time I failed. What should I do to stop my shortcomings?
I always have this doubt. How can we tell if this is really God’s plan or just a coincidence, but we tell ourselves it is so we feel good about it?
A family member, a born Catholic, has become a modernist/universalist during these years. He believes people of all religions can enter heaven; muslims, jews, hindus, scientologists, even pagans of the ancient world can enter heaven! He believes that there is one God, but he thinks that all the religious people of the world basically worship the same God even if it’s not Jesus! How can we help him to bring him back to the Catholic faith?
Is Judas in Heaven or in hell? What if he did repent after he placed the rope on his neck but could not have physically affording to get off the rope. Did the Church, or Her prophets and saints, ever discussed about Judas’ final fate?
